As part of its Service First mantra, the Village is committed to providing a high-quality customer service experience for our residents, businesses, and contractors throughout their construction projects. We recognize that construction projects represent investments in individual properties that enhance the Village. Our goal is to assist in completing these projects by removing challenges and obstacles.
To this end, the Community Development Department has designated Doug Hammel, Planning and Economic Development Manager, to fulfill the role of Customer Service Ombudsman. In this role, Doug utilizes his knowledge and experience to resolve more complex customer service issues relating to building permits. Doug has technical expertise in planning and zoning issues and has experience either coordinating or managing other aspects of the building permitting process, including civil engineering reviews.
Correspondence related to typical permit matters, such as what documents to submit and status updates, should be directed to the Community Development Department at firstname.lastname@example.org or 847-673-7402 for answers not found on our website. However, more complex issues, such as contradictory or conflicting information from different plan reviewers or lack of information when contacting the general Community Development communication methods, may be directed to Doug at email@example.com or 847-745-4796.
