Infrastructure Projects

The Village manages a variety of infrastructure improvement projects. This year's infrastructure program will include roadway resurfacing, spot sidewalk and curb replacement, and bringing pedestrian crosswalks and corners into compliance with requirements set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In an effort to provide information about the progress of each project, web pages have been developed to provide basic information such as start and completion dates, the project location, and a description of the project. These pages will also provide regular updates as construction commences.

Infrastructure Improvement Planning 

On February 6, 2018, the Village President appointed an Ad-Hoc Infrastructure Committee (“Committee”) to review and provide a recommendation regarding a draft infrastructure improvement plan presented to the Village Board by Village staff at a November 30, 2017 workshop. 

The Committee met on four occasions to review the proposed improvement plan and funding model. On May 14, 2018, the Committee voted to approve the recommendation outlined in the report (PDF). On June 19, 2018, the Village Board reviewed and accepted the Committee’s recommendation. Over the next 10 years, the Village will be working to make various improvements including resurfacing all of the residential streets and replacing various water mains. Staff and the Village Engineer have established a draft 10-year plan that identifies when each street and water main will be improved. This plan will be evaluated and updated on an annual basis depending on the need and available funding. View the draft of the 10-year plan dated December 14, 2018 (PDF).
