Preliminary Environmental Impacts Determination (PEID) - Lead Service Line Replacement
The IEPA has prepared a project summary and environmental assessment (PDF) to assist the Village in complying with the public notice requirements for the the Lead Service Replacement Project , IEPA Public Water Supply Loan Program (PWSLP) Project Plan (PDF).
In accordance with the Lead Service Line Replacement and Notification Act (415 ILCS 5/17.12), the Village is required to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive lead service line replacement plan. An initial lead service line replacement plan was submitted to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) on April 15, 2024. An updated lead service line replacement plan must be submitted to the IEPA each year until 2027. The Village has received a $6.2 million loan from the IEPA Public Water Supply Loan Program for water infrastructure improvements. The Village will be using these funds for lead service line replacement construction costs.
