District 1860 Construction Updates

Construction at the District 1860 project site began in Fall 2021 and a Certificate of Occupancy for the building permit that included Building A (299 apartment units with ground floor commercial space) and the related off site roadway improvements was issued in 2023. Upcoming Activities

Hotel Building (SpringHill Suites and Residence Inn)

Lakhani Hospitality is working on the construction of a dual-branded Marriott Hotel featuring over 150 hotel rooms to serve Lincolnwood and the region. The two brands will be Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites and the hotel will encompass an indoor pool, business center, and a fitness center. This new building will be welcoming guests sometime in Q1 or Q2 of 2026.

Grocery Store Building

The shell of the grocery store building is now complete. In January 2026, Amazon announced a nation-wide closure of all opened Amazon Fresh grocery stores. This announcement also mentioned that any Amazon Fresh store in development, including the Lincolnwood location, will not be moving forward. Village representatives and the District 1860 development team will be working diligently to find a new user for this building.
